My final amaryllis…..

Had a bit of a disaster with this Amaryllis this morning…the flower keeled over as the stem was so long and I had not put in any supports. So I cut it off and we will see how long it lasts in water. I did see recently in Kingston Market lots of very tall Amaryllis flowers just in bud…to be used in flower arrangements I suppose. This year I bought three very expensive bulbs from Sarah Raven….I think they are more suitable for people with large palatial homes. Next year I will go back to Lidl or M and S bulbs which have flowers which are about the same in size but without the very long 2-3 foot stems.

We had the family to lunch and my husband did lovely roast beef despite not feeling too well. I’m hoping he will be better after an early night.

Still chilly when I went for a walk late afternoon…I’m still missing taking Libby for a walk.
