The River Ribble

I took this photo just south-west of Long Preston this morning where the road crosses a youthful Ribble. I took the long route home from Salford to give myself a bit of thinking time. 

I had a chat with Dan over a coffee when I got back. I want to give the kids the news about Dad face to face as far as is possible, so I had the conversation again with Charlie and Hannah when they arrived later on, and then with Abi (by FaceTime, unfortunately). 

But in the evening we all went out for dinner at The Royal and that was perfect. 

In more light hearted news, my new Brian Eno book arrived from Amazon, this morning, except there had obviously been a packing mishap, and they sent me some Rimmel eye shadow instead :-/

That said, I shall point out that I pre-ordered that book some time ago and I have been resolutely ordering books from Waterstones since I started my Christmas shopping.
