Afflecks Palace

Youngest fancied a walk around Manchester today so we caught the train and did so. After visiting HMV music store in the Arndale we went for a nosey around the Northern Quarter, including Afflecks Palace where we enjoyed a cuppa at one of the independent cafes inside & a phone chat with bestie to see how she was feeling today.

Blip is one of the tiles panels outside Afflecks documenting Manchester's history, this one being Factory Records. Clockwise from top left is genius producer Martin Hannett, Factory Records co-founder Alan Erasmus, Hacienda DJ Mike Pickering, artwork designer Peter Savile, and Mr Manchester himself Tony Wilson.

Rushing back to Piccadilly Station, we just managed to catch a train home in time, avoiding a wait for the next one, and stopped a station earlier to walk to my parents house. Cuppas were had and natters were mattered before walking home.

Youngest who hadn't slept well the night before went straight to bed and by this time everyone else.had eaten. Having had very little during the day and feeling quite peckish I decided to 'get some more steps in' as is the cool kids say these days(that is,I walked!) and have some fish & chips for a treat.
