The monster Toronto Premium Outlet Mall opened down the road today. Everyone seemed to have taken the day off work to bag a bargain or 20. So we had huge traffic jams, women fighting for parking spaces, and long, sweaty, line-ups outside the more popular stores. This guy was the picture of sanity: he brought a book (no shops to provide intellectual stimulation in this shopping hell), curled up on a chair and ignored the throbbing madness around him . . .
