Happy 4th July!!!!!!!!

It's always today when I miss the people that I met in America in 2006 the most! I have such great memories of that month in Ohio during my residential stay with the CFPNI. Brona and I stayed with the Dorow family and were shown the highlights of Ohio, caught a baseball game, tried dip'n'dots, sloppy joes, visited Washington D.C, and befriended a dog called buster and a cat called Sweeney! But we also became friends with Brittany's neighbours and best friends Alex and Bryan Hobocienski!! :) I will never stop loving that surname! I made it my mission whilst I was there to learn how to spell it correctly! haha! These guys were awesome and I miss them both a lot - hopefully one day we can all meet up again!

Their mum was/is an amazing baker and I remember on the 4th July the guys came over with 'Mrs Hobocienski's 4th July cake! It was a sponge cake with the American flag decorated on the top using cream, blueberries and strawberries! I'd never tasted a cake like it and to this day still haven't! And that's without even mentioning her Apple Pie which we all enjoyed a slice of on our last night before heading home! If only such foods were Airmail friendly!! :)
