Peace

I went out at lunchtime to return some orders and picked up a carry out lunch from Stazione. I love going in there to see ‘my boys’ that I taught years ago. Today I was served by one of my girls (Sophie) that I taught years ago! :D
I found I had a bit of time but it was too damp to sit outside and eat (and the cafe was full) so I wandered slowly along the road and came to the gallery.
They had my fav forest view outside which I stood enjoying for a while then thought I could go in. The owner didn’t mind me going in with my lunch.
There was another painting inside which I loved and stood for a while admiring it. Then I went upstairs and immediately fell in love with this original oil painting by Johnathan Shaw. It looked like it was printed then just a few areas painted over the top. The leaping sea at the bottom was thick and one spot was ‘spilling’ over the frame. Very clever. I loved the fresh lines, the sweep of the sky, the distant lights, the still yacht and the gently lapping on the e shore. It drew me. Made me think of dad. Made me want to be there. I enjoyed its peace. I stood there lost in it for as long as I could, drinking in the quiet, before returning to school.
