Preaching to the flock

A day off today - yay - just like 'normal' people get at weekends :) 

Had to laugh when I spotted this hen - it did look like she was on her soapbox or preaching to her flock. 

Can you spot the extra set of beady eyes? Hadn't even realised until I saw the photo. 

This was taken on my 'bird walk' - there's been a noticeable uptick in bird song the past week so headed out with the Merlin app recording to see what was about - had 14 different birds recorded, including a Brambling, which was a first, it was just a wee glimpse as it flew off. I'm pretty sure I also saw a Jay, never seen one here, closest has been Roslin Glen but no bird call was recorded.
