That Will Do!

Silver Sands

In need of fresh air we went to Silver Sands in Aberdour. Mr Flum wanted to check out the bridge over the Dour Burn, which connects the path from Silver Sands with the harbour and town.

In August 2020 after a storm sent torrents down the burn one bridge abutment was severely damaged and the deck dropped, breaking the connection.
Repairs ensued and the fortified replacement opened in July 2023.

After delicious seafood chowder and coffee in Sands Cafe and an appreciative look at the view of Arthur's Seat and the castle across the firth, we walked on the coastal path up the steep steps and down, over Hawkcraig Point and over the bridge to the harbour.

However, I thought the return path appeared too difficult for me, I'm having trouble with one of my knees and it was telling me that it was tired, so I sat on one of the comfortable seats, admiring the view, while Mr Flum brought the car round (it took him all of ten minutes) and we came home.

Currently at Miss Flum's house, having brought our tea here to save her pedalling to us. The log burner's on and we're all very cosy.
