Floating on the river

Today was a much hotter day than yesterday so I didn't stay at the park after my walk with one of the dogs from the sanctuary, even though I didn't have anything else to blip yet than a photo of two flies on the underside of a leaf. When I was riding home along the river I spotted a pair of Great Crested Grebes on the water. They had 4 youngsters with them so I'm fairly sure that they were the family that I'd been photographing at the artificial island last month. The adult in my blip is carrying 3 of the grebelets, the other parent had the 4th one on its back.

Although this is not the greatest shot because the Grebes were quite far away, I thought it would be more interesting than the two flies.

Today was a somewhat better day even though, for most of it, my mind was still on the event which made yesterday a day that I'd wished had never happened.
