Snow
The overnight temperature last night was around -7, with a 'feels like' of -12. I still ended up opening the window at about 1am; it's definitely a different kind of cold. Tonight is warmer at -6 / -11
I've never done any sort of winter sports holiday before, as much as I love the snow I had enough expensive hobbies when I was younger (boats, horses) and by the time I thought about trying them I'd kind of lost interest. I was therefore quite trepidatious about snowshoeing, but equally, thought it seemed quite accessible.
Let me tell you, it is harder than it looks! If I wasn't trying not to stand on my own shoes (and fall over) I was trying to avoid the person in front and if I wasn't looking where I was going I was sliding down slopes (and falling over) towards rivers. It was enormous fun but I am truly shattered. Marathon training is nothing.
After another filling (and carb heavy) dinner of local food we've all headed off for an early night.
