In the rain forest
I ate my lunch in amongst the tree ferns in the Kibble Palace before joining a large group of people for a walk along the River Kelvin. It was organised by the Scottish Wildlife Trust and our key species to spot were Kingfisher, Dipper and Otter. Only minutes into the walk we were delighted to see a Kingfisher which perched for around ten minutes on the branch of a large clump of dogwood. With my binoculars I could see it clearly but with my light weight camera, the photos were rubbish. Likewise, we spent quite a while watching a dipper further downstream but I have no decent photos to prove it. No otters were seen! It was however a nice afternoon, I met a lot of lovely people and gleaned a lot of useful information about other places to visit.
