Post Office

This rather grandiose baronial style building was the new post office opened in 1907. It looks more like a ducal hunting lodge that would be found somewhere in the Highlands, such as Balmoral for example.

Gone are the days when the post office can lay claim to such a grand building. Instead now the post office is to be found in the basement of a branch of WHSmith. I believe this building is now apartments.

I had a couple of errands in town. I was dressed as I normally am at this time of year, but actually I found myself rather too warm!
