Violet Dropwing

Unfortunately not very alive, but still vibrant colours.
In the calm and sunshine yesterday there were a multitude of brightly coloured dragonflies hunting back and forth along the sunny side of the ship. Compared to UK species they looked like toys - being less than half the size of the smallest dragonflies around the pond at home.
Unfortunately for all the insects blowing out to sea on the NE trades this is a one way and terminal trip...today with cooler windier weather the quiet corners outside are littered with dead and dying moths, dragonflies and other assorted insect life.
