Stairs #2 The Tulip Stairs

The Tulip Stairs at the Queen's House in Greenwich are considered the
first spiral self-supporting staircase in Britain. Designed by Inigo Jones, they were built in 1616 and have 94 steps. The Queen is Queen Anne (yes, the one in The Favourite, directed by Yorgos Lanthimos). The tulips are the florals on the stunning wrought iron balustrade. Originally, the florets were meant to symbolise lilies but the invoices referred to the staircase as the Tulip Stairs, so that was that. In extras:

1. View looking upwards to the skylight, taken from the lowest point.
2. View taken half way up.
3. Another view looking downwards.
