Naked lady

This naked lady (Amaryllis belladonna) popped up and is flowering in a front garden bed for the first time. When I told the Resident Gardener that there was a naked lady in the front yard the look on his face was priceless. He has no memory of planting its bulb.

Its common name reflects its leaflessness when it is flowering, prior to which its leaves have withered away. The pink colour of its large trumpet shaped flowers is truly gorgeous.

After two days of minding Margot and unable to take her out due to the wild weather, I'm pretty knackered. Also I have a socially busy weekend (about which I'm not complaining). These things have rendered me behind in keeping up with journals. Will catch up when I can.

Have a top weekend.

Thanks for hosting BikerBear.
