Mt Messenger

We have traveled to New Plymouth today via Mt Messenger which is a very windy piece of road with a tunnel at the top. There are major road works on this road so in future, instead of winding up the hill, the new road will travel through the valley much lower down. I know this road well as I lived in New Plymouth for 20 years and this is the only road north.
I’ve put a photo of Mt Taranaki as an extra. Not the best photo of it but as it was clear of cloud I thought I better capture it just in case we don’t see it again. There are much better vantage points to take a mountain photo which we will visit over the next few day so I may be lucky enough to blip it again.
