Sunset: Giens Peninsula, Cote d'Azur
I have spent sometime pondering what to blip today whilst sitting in the sun which was much the same temperature as the UK today.
Then I remembered I hadn't done a sunset. So I took myself up into the Maure mountains above the coast. My first encounter was to meet a shepherdess who was as nutty as a fruitcake and turned out to be English! No blip there, she demanded 10 Euros a shot for her and the goats!
After I escaped, I found my spot and waited. At the critical moment, the camera failed!! I couldn't believe it. In desperation I cleared all the settings and fortunately it worked again. The sunset was disappearing fast. So in the end it was a handheld shot which turned out to be a medium quality JPEG! I hadn't time to reset the menu.
Do not look at this LARGE unless you want to see some camera shake!
So this is the out of camera JPEG. The view is of the Giens Peninsula, south of Hyeres. Note the very narrow causeway that leads from the mainland to the Peninsula itself.
Giens is well worth a visit and an easy way to reach the beautiful National Park which is the island of Porquerolles.
I may go to the beach tomorrow to see what there is there that is blippable without breaking french privacy laws:).
Thank you for the great comments on the fishing boat at St.Tropez.
