Citadel Hill

A different view of Citadel Hill. I stopped near the Dartmouth waterfront this afternoon to get a few photos. Citadel Hill is in the background, overlooking CFB Halifax Dockyard.

I kept my head down and my mouth shut at work today. Shevon will be off for a week while dealing with the death of her father-in-law. Robyn and I did the nail color reline that was scheduled for today. I could/would not stay all day. 5 - 6 hours is enough for me. I do not want to work the 8 - 10 hour days. Robyn said she could work longer so she was the lead for the day.

Last year, the first time I met her, I was supposed to be giving her some refresher training. She showed up but was not in a good mood. She had a fight with her bf the night before and didn't get any sleep as a result. I was generally not impressed with her. I am still not impressed with her. This morning, she said she wasn't feeling well, she should have rescheduled it, but decided she would try and work thru it. She doesn't know if she will be able to work next month or not. My impression she likes to whine and complain about things.

I arrived at the store before Robyn, so I asked the cosmetics manager to get the planogram and tags printed for us, and to bring out the reline kit and new product. We don't have the usual worksheet that the leads usually have but that is alright because I can work off the planogram. Robyn did not even know what worksheet I was talking about, that's how aware she is of other things happening during the reline. I start moving some trays of nail color, based on the planogram. Robyn started sorting the color strips that go with each tray. Then I had to tell her that she should be working on the pegboard nail implements(nail files, etc) section. She had never done one. So I had to show her how to start it.

Then I went back to my section and focused on getting as much of it done as possible by 3 pm. Each section of nail color is one foot wide and it has 12 shelves. I had 7 sections to complete. One brand had 5 shelves and it was the only incomplete one when I left at 3. All the rest of them were done with the exception of putting the price tags on them and stocking the new product. The one brand that was left has odd shaped bottles that keep falling over, that's why I left them till the end.

At one point, Robyn got up and walked away. She never said anything to me. When she came back, she said it was almost time to get the new stock. I told her it was in a box right behind us. She never noticed the box there, she never heard the cosmetics manager telling us the new stock was in the box. When she had walked away, she went looking for the cosmetics manager to ask for the new stock.

I have to go back to the same store tomorrow morning to do a couple of small relines. I hope I can get my time down on them, I've already done a couple of them at other stores.  It will be interesting to see if the cosmetics manager says anything to me tomorrow about the reline today.
