Freezing But Friendly
Josh was Assistant Referee at two games today;
Exeter Chiefs U18’s v Harlequins U18’s
Exeter Chiefs U17’s v Harlequins U17’s
Truro College pitches were the venue, the first match, the U18’s kicked off at 1230, the breeze and drizzle were ice cold, by half time I was so cold I adjourned to the cafe for a hot coffee. I braved the second half and then it started to warm up so the second game was a more comfortable watch.
Two hugely entertaining matches with no small amount of talent on show were won by my club, Quins. The games were fast, entertaining and played with great spirit, there’s something a bit special about academy level rugby.
We headed home to a Mrs S hotpot cooked chicken teriyaki, very nice it was as well more importantly a roaring open fire to get the chill from our bones.
