Hornbeam or not?

Apple image software suggests these trees are Hornbeam, which seems possible given they have been planted out to emphasise the diagonals created by the field boundaries. The species I’m used to seeing in our valley are oak, ash, sycamore.

The avenue of trees on the horizon is where I photographed my first female orange-top butterfly.

I’ve been walking more because the weather has been so much better this week and because it helps with some of the physical symptoms I experience when it’s time to take my medication.  I think I’m getting the hang of it and then my body reacts in a different way.  I have some slow release meds for the night time period now which I started Wednesday (same day as this post).  I was on tenterhooks as to whether they’d take me through the night - they did.  Last night they didn’t!  I can understand the feedback from L’s camera club friend who said he took his at midnight.  The way I sleep I’m sure to be waking up again for the loo around midnight.

hand Lane from home to the top of the hill (Sim Hill) 0.61miles uphill all the way.  So 1.2 miles.  I remember pushing Jimmy up here in his pram and carrying on to Hood Green and back home past Cold Bath Farm and Gudgeon Hole Lane - about 3.5 miles.  How life changes!
