View from the High Street

All three kids were on a sleep over last night so for the first time in ten years I wasn't woken up by a kick in the gonads at 6am, a shout of "I'm Hungry" or a face leering at me at 7am asking if I could put the telly on. In fact I didn't even wake up until 9am which was bliss. Especially as me and Mrs Smith had stuffed ourselves on Lobster and the finest wines known to mankind last night.

Once I'd blinked into life it was up the street for the papers (past the views of Bass Rock that are covering up the building work in the High Street) and then, shock horror, back to bed with the papers and breakfast.

After that it was normal service resumed. Pick up the kids, off to Skateboarding lessons, food shopping and then kicking a ball around.

Settled in front of the TV to watch the climax of the Open and Tom Watson unfortunately collapse with fatigue. A bit like I'm about to do right now.
