Blessed

A misty start, soon cleared allowing the warm sunshine to shine and exhibit the beauty of the north Devon countryside.
Curlews, oyster catchers, redshank, Heron, Cormorant, a plethora of wrens and tits foraging in amongst the tangle of bushes and trees. We were fortunate enough to meet lovely people and dogs enabling us to engage in empathetic conversations both human and canine:)
A lunch of sausages, iced rich fruit cake including marzipan helped down with a warm beverage hit the spot for us both, made especially nice sitting on a bench in warm sunshine listening to estuary bird life. The journey back to Bideford was similarly entertaining , not forgetting to collect the crab claws and small Turbot I’d purchased from the fish docks on the way out. I was offered a job there (fishmongery being one of my past occupations) as someone had left to tour Great Britain in their camper van with dog and surfboard! I’m going to try this retirement thing for the time being, now that I have just had my 66th birthday:))
Back to Amadeus for some previously prepared chicken, ham and vegetables soup before attending the first day back of the new term at choir where we spent a long time wassailing in readiness for some orchard visits on Friday.
