Sail On . . . Commodores

This morning I went into Nelson to meet Jen and have our weekly walk and talk.  I choose walking around the marina because the sun is shining at last!  We came upon  this yacht being lifted out of the water.  When it had stopped moving and was over the concrete the people gathered around and appeared to be looking at the rudder.  
At the end of the marina a family including grandparents and small children where catching sprats.  The coffee cart was crowded so we walked on to River Kitchen.  We passed the centre where the slain Police Womans service is to be held.  I could hear the piper practicing.  There were policemen stationed around the park and I am guessing they are there because our Prime Minister is attending.  Jen and I have never before seen so many Police Officers in dress uniform.  They were walking in groups towards the venue or to the Marina to get coffee.
