A Splash of Colour

I walked with G on Kelling Heath this afternoon. It was very dull out, so it was nice to see this horse sporting a vibrant purple coat. I don't think we saw anyone whilst we were out, but we did hear a big charm of goldfinches singing away in a tree and a group of long tailed tits in another tree.

I'm doing very well so far in choosing what tennis match to watch at the Australian Open, today it was a 5 set match where Britain's Jack Draper beat the Australian Thanasi Kokkinakis. It was such an entertaining match. The only negative was the behaviour of the crowd - you expect it to be partisan, but not to the extent of sometimes booing Jack winning a point or calling his shots out when they weren't, or making so much noise that the players can't hear the umpire. The chair umpire did well in telling the crowd quite bluntly to behave, but they were getting out of hand. Jacob Fearnley also got through to the next round after his fab win on Monday.
