Sometimes I feel so alive...

... Sometimes I see so clear...

Ok, the photo has nothing much to do with what I have been doing today.

Today is 1st August, a holiday in Switzerland to celebrate Swiss National Day.

I got up at 6, showered and breakfasted and drove down to Aigle, a village just past the other end of the lake.

I then particpated in the semi marathon des Alpes, a little half marathon race from Aigle up the mountain to the mountain resort of Leysin. Running up hill isn't quite the same as running on the flat. To give you an idea, my usual half marathon time is around 1h25. Today's race took me 3 hours. So quite a lot of the time you have to walk.

But it was great fun as usual and the weather was brilliant, if a little hot, even at 2000 metres. One crazy guy even did the race dressed as a cow.

Views were beautiful, could see all the way down to the lake but obviously didn't have camera with me.

Train back down, drove home and lunch in the garden with Mrs SwRo, Dylan and a few sparrows.

Wife thinks I'm a bit crazy, but title today sums a little bit my feelings. Can you guess the song ?.
