Jacks

Awhile back I purchased a set of jacks. I was feeling nostalgic. I loved to play this game when I was a kid. I had very quick hands and was very good at it.
So today I played the game all the way from ones to tens, I think I remembered how. Not nearly as quick and nimble as I used to be.
I had to play jacks on my kitchen counter because if I played on the floor I think the dogs would have grabbed the ball.
When we lived in Bhutan back in 1983-84 the children were playing “jacks” but with small rocks. Instead of a ball they tossed a little larger rock into the air and caught it after they quickly picked up the appropriate number of smaller rocks.
