The Shack is back
Well nearly. Haven’t quite finished yet but as post Christmas clear-ups go it’s not bad. Also did a bit of draught proofing to make it cosier.
Today felt like a spring day - mild, sunny, blue skies. Which probably means we’re in for the kind of February that we had in 2010 when the country ground to a halt… But the cats were happy with milder weather, young Henry in particular flying around the garden as if he’d been let off the leash.
Started a new novel today, The Fifth Season by N K Jemisin. A multi award winner in the fantasy and sci-fi field she is touted as the successor to Ursula Le Guin. Anyway it is very readable and a bit of a page turner. I also have Elif Shafak’s latest on the go.
I am going to try and read a book a week this year. Now there’s a challenge …
