Mud, Mud, Glorious Mud
Another day when we didn't really get started. Having 'flu to start the year has properly derailed us. We don't still have the 'flu, but we're not fully over it yet either.
I sorted out post for sending, and later in the afternoon we went to Five Mile Bridge at Fiskerton for a walk. There's a proper path there, so we thought it wouldn't be muddy, and this played a part in our decision to go there.
Shows how wrong you can be! At some point recently the river had overflowed its banks, depositing a thick layer of mud all over the path. This transferred itself to our boots and my trousers very quickly. The boots are now in the back yard to dry off.
There wasn't much to see, though we saw a little egret and a grey heron. Brian hopefully got a shot of one of them. I didn't as I didn't take my camera. I need to stop being lazy and relying on my phone so much.
