Our Giant

I’m going to have to admit to cheating on today’s blip.

Having been taking photos like its going out of fashion all weekend, I took the square root of f-all today, but this one was sent to the Panto WhatsApp group as we had been discussing the show it featured in over the weekend.

This was our Giant from Jack and the Beanstalk, which we did back in 2019. It remains a special one to me as it was the first time Samm (voice of The Bear) joined our little troupe and the first time a group from work had come to see me in something (and have come to pretty much everything else ever since).

Fond memories. The chap who constructed it is something of a creative genius though, as evidenced by the painting and design of our laundry scene this year. The level of detail and volume of jokes that he has woven into it is staggering.

Whilst I was missing the buzz of being on stage, it was lovely to spend some time with the wee ones and share stories of our respective weekend shenanigans. 

Turns out that some of The Youngest’s friends had been in to see the show over the weekend and really enjoyed it - going so far as to get a petition together to stop me from taking a step back next year, bless ‘em!! 

Even EW2 passed on some kind words from her work colleagues who had been to see it too!

Some of the buzz returned…..particularly with the thought that Ms Simmo & Co will be in on Wednesday night along with the aforementioned work lot!!

Should be fun!
