Thaw

These are not elm trees and there were no rooks but the trees in the thawing snow seemed a good excuse to quote Thaw by Edward Thomas. A favourite  short poem full of optimism.

' Over the land freckled with snow half thawed
The speculating rooks at their nests cared
And saw from the elm tops, delicate as flowers of grass,
What we could not see, Winter pass.
