Futebol
…. pronounced ‘foochieball’. Top and bottom shots were on the square opposite where we almost had dinner tonight. The other one is across the other side of the river, on our walk into the historic centre. Notice the bare feet. See extras for other pics of the day.
We rested by the pool after breakfast, then wandered into the town, thinking we’d go to the same little beach place for lunch and people watching. A last minute change of plans saw us walking round the bay, across a footbridge and into an area which we now know houses the fish market. We walked back into the historic area cobbled streets, browsed in some of the little shops and stopped for a drink and some people watching. Considered buying a painting (on canvas) by a local artist, but decided to sleep on it. Walked round the bay again and along to the little beach, thinking about an early dinner. Uh oh, everywhere on this stretch closes early here on Mondays! Back onto the cobbles and sat down to have an early dinner at an outside table in Prosa, good reviews. We then realised we weren’t hungry enough to do it justice and were actually quite weary. Back along the river towards our pousada and stopped again at Caborê, just round from our pousada for some nibbles.
Finished the book I’ve been reading - The Wedding People. Enjoyed it!
