Talking Turkey And Emporium Sensorium

After a slightly longer run than usual - an 'epic' distance of just over a mile - we needed to discuss frankly and straightforwardly our turkey needs for Christmas before we set off for some more yuletide food shopping. Were we going for two turkey crowns or one turkey crown and a boneless turkey joint (we always have two turkey dinners over Christmas - and of course you have to account for turkey sandwiches)? Tune in to find out later in this blip - oh the drama!
We were still in a bit of a fowl based quandary when we arrived at our local Waitrose - where the self service check-out seemed to take an instant dislike to us - so we just picked up a few bits and pieces and decided to postpone our turkey 'torment' until we'd had a cheeky pint at The Horseshoes and a quick stop over in Yalding for a walk and some fresh air.
Today's image is of Yalding's village emporium which I last captured a couple of years ago when it was decked out in royal regalia for the late Queen's Platinum Jubilee. As I may have mentioned in a recent blip I have been searching for my festive spirit a bit this year - it has waxed and waned so far - but when I saw this shop front with its wonderfully idiosyncratic yuletide window displays part of my brain - the sensorium (and it just happens that it also rhymes with emporium!), that receives and co-ordinates all the stimuli conveyed to various sensory centres, felt like it had finally regained that festive feeling in full.
So festive spirit regained and head cleared we were able stop talking turkey and make a final decision - we stopped at M&S on the way home and purchased one turkey crown and two turkey boneless joints. Turkey troubles terminated! :-)
