Dolly's Day

AN OLD BOOK

The Mono Monday theme is OLD.  I have a variety of old items around my house but I didn't have a lot of time today to seek out something special - most of the " handy " old things have been blipped before.  So I looked through some of the old books collected by my late husband and chose this one to blip.  The title is " In The Year of Waterloo " by O V Caine. The best thing about this book is whats inside but that is too colourful to convert to mono so Ive added it as an Extra - plus an illustration which is near the front of the book.

As you can see in the Extra the book was presented to a David Dickinson - a pupil at Bolam Street School ( which was in Byker, Newcastle ) It was given to David in recognition of 6 years of unbroken attendance year ending 31st July 1912.  I hope David enjoyed his book.  Many years later this book ended up in a charity shop ( possibly in Byker ) and it was bought by my late husband in 1982. Thanks to laurie54 for hosting the challenge.

Got some chores ticked off my list today including a load of washing and some admin. This afternoon I got the bus to the Co-op, did my shopping and then walked home.  The paths were free of ice and snow and it was a bit warmer today --- although there was a strong wind.

Steps today - 5,550
