Long tail duck

We heard the Old squaws long before we saw them. These two were inshore closer then the bigger bunch. They are a sea ducks or diving ducks. usually out in deeper water. They make a loud unusual sound not like any other duck. We were on our doggie walk when we spotted this pair out from the piers. Happy to blip them. We call them "squees" or "southerlies" locally. 
The ornithologists in 2000 changed the name Old squaw to Long tail duck. They claim it was not an issue of political correctness. Oh Please!
