Anne's Daily Encounters

Rural Crete

This day Sweetheart and I went out and about again with the car and we had friend Nikos, the RK priest / Capuchin monk with us, like a week ago.
Here we'd just taken the curve in the road leading up to the village (if not hamlet) of Mouri, high up in the hills. The smoke from the shed and all the woods close to it, reminded me of a similar sight from years ago. It's charcoal what's made here, like then at Vrisses; loved it to see that an old trade is still practised.
And for sure we had a lovely day together; Nikos who lends Sweeetheart his ear and adds knowledge what's welcomed lots and we discovered an old Byzantine church in Mouri what was like cream on the cake for the two friends! (see etra)
