Koto
Today is the big day when we boarded our ship, the Silver Dawn. Before we embarked, we were taken to a spectacular site where a beautiful Japanese luncheon was served.
Today is a very special day in Japan -- it celebrates the coming of age of Japanese girls, and it is a national holiday. Where we had lunch, we saw several young ladies all dressed up in beautiful kimonos being professionally photographed, along with a wedding ceremony. So lots of beautiful moments in other peoples' lives to share!
This is an image of some lovely musicians entertaining us with their Kotos -- a Japanese plucked half-tube zither instrument, and the national instrument of Japan.
We are now safely on board the beautiful Silver Dawn, where we found the luggage we shipped in December safely ensconced in our stateroom. Now we are all unpacked, full of dinner, and ready for bed!
