1941: James Joyce dies
Quote Of The Day
"I think a child should be allowed to take his father's name or mother's name at will on coming of age. Paternity is a legal fiction."
(James Joyce)
Looking at a selection of James Joyce quotes, most of them were about as decipherable and sensible as his novels, that is, not at all. Fortunately, this one was; fortunately, because today is Coming Of Age Day in Japan. Unfortunately, there were no young ladies or gentlemen wearing kimono at Ikuta Shrine this morning. Instead, I give you the barrier that will protect Imazu in the event of a tsunami.
