Paterson House
Not old by some country's standards but in the Shakey Isles a stone house is unusual. Built by quarry workers in 1927 for manager Ned Paterson, the three-bedroom house also showcased the use of the local stone. The quarry has been closed for many years and now a popular reserve for walkers, with a separate area for dog exercise. It has been leased by council for Conservation Volunteers accommodation.
