A moody Saturday in Porto
Our last day in Porto and it was epic!
Started off with a little run (in the rain, again) then off to the best brunch of my life. The flavours were incredible and I will be thinking about that brunch for a long time to come! Second breakfast was our first pastel de nata of the day, because even an epic brunch must be followed by a pastry. We walked along the tram line and were suddenly greeted by a moody mist over the river.
We mooched around a bit, finding some of our favourite shops again to buy a few souvenirs and then the sun finally came out in the afternoon in time for a little beer on a terrace on the route of the Camino de Santiago. Another Pastel de nata (and possibly the best) before some wine and dinner. I appreciate that it sounds like all we have done is eat and drink our way around Porto and whilst that is largely true, we have also stomped our way around the city and therefore feel that all the stops were well earned.
Porto has been brilliant. We have met some wonderful people, walked every inch of the city (at least once), been inspired by the creativity we’ve seen and have feasted on some incredible food and wine. It’s been a really wonderful way to start the year (and escape the cold).
