And for today's adventure...
I dropped Rich and the remnants of his Covid cough on Ilkley Moor for a high walk home while I headed on to Buckden to see what Buckden Pike was like. I needed my snow socks in the car park and I didn't get the views that he did but it was magnificent all the same.
There were deep drifts in many places but, most of the way up, I was taking advantage of weekend footsteps - just had to keep an eye on navigation in the whiteout!
You can maybe just make out a couple in the middle of the picture with their skis in their packs ready for a quick descent down. Normally, I'd do a circuit but there were no footsteps I could see heading off and I wasn't going to start plodding through what is now heavy British snow, up to my knees. It may be my last day to enjoy the snow so I jollied on down the way I came up!
Home for a relaxing afternoon and a game of Botanicus. We're playing a board game most evenings now and are really pleased with our Christmas presents. Last night, after a car fail for Liz, we took the planned curry to hers instead, along with Harmonies - and she seemed to get hooked on it quite quickly too.
(It's been wild up here before! I think there might be a new shelter since I came here last but I didn't bother to check it out - just took a couple of pics and headed on down.)
