The castle with sun and ice
The ice on my drive and the pavement had melted by late morning although plenty of snow and ice still in patches.
As F had run low on fresh food as he hadn't been out for days I went to do some shopping for him (I don't like shopping on a Sunday but it was an exception today). His cold has gone onto his chest and he's not feeling good at the moment.
I delivered the shopping plus some home cooking for him to heat up. I'll pop in to see how he is again tomorrow.
This afternoon I went for a walk round the village, the sun had come out and it was lovely to get out again. The floods on the castle field were still covered in thick ice and lots of children and adults were sliding on it or trying to break it. The ice must be very thick and deep as some of the teenagers had got big fencing posts. They were trying to break the ice with them and failing.
My photo is of the back of the castle, the moat was still frozen too.
