After a lovely night away, we headed home. We called in at Malton en route, but there wasn’t much open but we enjoyed a mooch around, including finding the most perfect property for sale - but sadly in totally the wrong area for us. - in an estate agent window.

We then decided to call in the designer outlet at York. We both felt totally out of place -  not our idea of fun - but equally there didn’t look to be any sign of a cost of living crisis. I just hope people weren’t adding to their debt.

As we got nearer and nearer home the snow appeared and gradually got deeper and deeper. This is taken from the car approaching Otley. Our street has been gritted now, but still not fully clear, still no post deliveries for over a week, but definitely it’s signs of improvement. I just hope it doesn’t cause too much flooding as it thaws.

I feel so much better for having been away. Hopefully a feeling that will last for a while until our next trip.
