My Dear Princess and Dear Fellow,

Jasper is special. Amongst the four cats, he is the least cat-like. 

We think it is because he is so smart and so wilful. He has a very strong personality and certainly does not ACT like a kitty. He talks a lot and makes his feelings known.

Caro has mentioned the Jasper Nod to me. When she mentioned it, I knew exactly what she meant. He greets you with a head toss, a jerk of the neck. Like he's a Scottish geezer going, "Alright?" 

He was bossing me around today. While I was chatting online to a colleague he came stomping in and shouted at me. Then - because I did not immediately do his bidding - he found a packet of cat biscuits that Caro had left out. He grabbed them and threw them on the floor. 

This is Jasper.

However, he's an older fellow now, like his father. He and I spend most of our time napping. He's asleep next to me right now, snoring gently.

Jasper is a very comforting presence in the house. It's just nice having him right here, like the third person in our house, helping us look after the cats. 

Having said that, I haven't seen HIM change any cat boxes lately.
