Fête des Rois

I belong to a French Circle and we do various French orientated activities during the year. Our first event of the year is to celebrate the Fête des Rois - the Feast of the Kings. Officially it's on the 5 January, Epiphany. Tonight we met in central London where we had a French themed quiz, drank French wine and had a buffet. One of our group prepared a galette (the King's cake) and hid a bean (feve) inside. Whoever has the slice with the bean is crowned the King or Queen and chooses a consort. Together they distribute a gift to each person which we've bought, wrapped and hidden in a big sack. It's a really enjoyable evening.
On the way back to the tube I took this picture of the London Eye.
