Square Crop

I was reading yesterday about square compositions, and how a square crop works well sometimes. I decided to use it for this morning's bird in the snow photo.  We got a couple more inches last night so I decided to brave the cold and go outside with my tripod, instead of shooting through the window. It was actually quite invigorating, although my toes wouldn't have lasted much longer.
