He's behind you!
Much of day taken up with Jack's physio. We now have a plan in place. She said he's moving better than last time but his back still felt really rigid. Going to do 3 weeks in hand stuff x4 per week and hack out at weekends. Then in 4th week start to ride again. Then she'll come and do a more intense session to try and release his back and we'll continue with monthly visits. It's hard to get the vet involved at this stage as we don't know if his back is causing issues with his hocks or vice versa. My feeling is because he's long backed he's standing awkwardly to ease his back ache and that is causing hock discomfort. And last time I had the vet they said nothing obvious wrong so it would involve having him in for a couple of days for work ups and X-rays etc and then we don't know where to start because he's not presenting any lameness.
Anyway we just need to get him comfortable. I think it's discomfort rather than pain as he hoons round the field bucking and gallops off on hacks and if we ask him to jump he flies round. He just won't work for her in the school at home but I feel it's worse when he doesn't get worked. It's so difficult to know what to do :0( At least we have a bit of a plan now.
