Grenoble

I drove mum to Grenoble to see a specialist... She has developed a Zenker's diverticulum, which is a pouch in the throat which makes eating difficult for her. She is 93 and the only treatment possible, given the position in the throat, requires full anesthetic - an extremely worrying prospect. She has not decided what to do yet... She can live with it but will need to adjust her diet.
We dropped by my other two uncles on the way home. André 97, who also lives on his own, still drives and is still very sharp, and Pierre, the youngster of the family 89, who lives with his wife.
In the evening, I went to the cinema with my sister. The film was En fanfare (The marching band) and I really enjoyed it.
