Exeter Riddles sculpture
Took a trip to Exeter City today for a mooch - a very long time since I've been to the big city and had day looking at the various shops etc.
The weather was kind though I think it did rain whilst we were having a coffee. The journey down was interesting- due to a number of diversions, we ended up on the A30 which meant we got a great view of the snow on Dartmoor.
This sculpture is in the High Street. It was created by a local artist Michael Fairfax with wings having verses from the Exeter Riddles, which date from circa 960 AD Exeter Book, which is the earliest known example of Anglo Saxon poetry in existence.
I like the reflections.
An enjoyable journey and a few purchases made.......
