Beyond Silent Voices

After six months of planning, we had  the first community meeting of people committed to taking Silent Voices to the next  level. The dream  is to  raise enough funds to develop a project that will include a live theatre production, some workshops, and ways to give voice to people silenced by State violence wherever it occurs. Donna Hayes and I are bowing out of the project. The main is Donna, telling the story of the death of her grandson and her need to hear his voice again. I told the people who showed up, "It's yours now. We're passing it on. It has never been more important. Take it where we couldn't go. In Palestine, in South Africa, in Colombia, and all over the USA, voices are being silenced every day. Give them voice."
