Frosty rooftops

Last night I went to the Ellesmere Wildlife Trust annual social night.  As well as food and drink there were couple of quizzes, a name the bird picture one which was easy and a general wildlife one which was much more difficult.  

I showed a selection of my photos which seemed to go down well. Mine were all living creatures and the other person showed all flowers and fungi so that was unintentional good planning!

It was very cold and frosty last night and when I got home my drive was like glass with slippery ice.  It looked icier today but did look pretty on the rooftops and garden.

There was ice on my drive as well as on the pavement and road outside the house so decided to have a day in rather than risk falling.  

I made some vegetable and lentil soup (I'll take some for F tomorrow as he's at home with a cold) and spent some time reading an Anne Cleeves book. I really enjoyed a quiet day inside today as yesterday I was out all day and evening.
